About Social Equity

Social equity is to ensure that those from communities disproportionately harmed, and individuals who were arrested by cannabis prohibition and discriminatory law enforcement are included in the new legal cannabis industry.  Promoting equitable ownership and/or employment opportunities within the Cannabis industry while decreasing disparities for marginalized Communities, especially Communities of Color.

Our Mission

Our Mission is to ‘LAV8’ The Social Equity Program within the Cannabis Industry, while ensuring that those who were impacted by the criminalization of the cannabis plant have access, and support, to opportunities afforded them.

Over 5 years’ experience and knowledge of social equity standards, policy changes and government systems, we are dedicated to providing the best and economical solutions to those who need help.

What States currently offer a Social Equity Program?

As of 2022, 12 States within the United States offer Social Equity Programs… Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York and Washington.

In most States, individuals eligible for Verification must live in (or have lived in) a designated area where there has been a high rate of arrest and incarceration for cannabis-related activity that is no longer illegal.  In addition, individuals who have been arrested or convicted, may receive priority for their social equity application.

What are the benefits of being Social Equity Qualified?

Those who qualify as a Social Equity Applicant and would like to erect a licensed and legal cannabis business within their State receive priority consideration in the licensing process and would be eligible to receive one or more of the following: fee waivers, direct technical assistance, grants, loans, expedited application review, application and license fee reduction, location assistance and more depending on your City and State.  An Individual who is awarded a Social Equity License may also be eligible to enter into an Incubation Agreement, where established cannabis operators open up their space, their network and knowledge… allowing you to ’set up shop’ in their Facility and receive an ‘apprenticeship’ opportunity.
